Presidio San Antonio de Béjar
This National Historic Landmark represents the last visual remnants of the Presidio San Antonio de Béjar. Traditionally known as the Spanish Governor’s Palace, it was the original comandancia (residence and working office) for the captains of the military garrison from 1722 until the early 1800s.
Come learn Texas’s earliest history under Spanish rule. Tour the rooms furnished with Spanish Colonial period pieces and be delighted with the beautifully landscaped gardens in the courtyard.
Procedures for Visiting the Spanish Governor's Palace

To ensure compliance with CDC guidance, the City of San Antonio and the World Heritage Office are taking extra precautions for the care of every visitor. Guests must wear face coverings while touring the Spanish Governor’s Palace. Handwashing stations and hand sanitizer are available to visitors. Museum staff is monitoring and cleaning high-touch surfaces during the facility's operating hours. Museum staff must wear PPE at all times during operating hours. Visits to the Spanish Governor's Palace are timed and by reservation only. Guests must purchase tickets online to reserve a date and time to visit prior to coming to the facility. Only a maximum of 10 visitors are allowed inside per hour.
